WHERE DO RALLO DIAMONDS COME FROM?
CANADIAN DIAMONDS
Discovered in one of the most remote wildernesses on earth, Canadian diamonds are pure, beautiful and an increasingly enticing prospect for those looking for a diamond with excellent credentials. Canada’s diamonds are predominantly mined in the Northwest Territories (NWT), which encompasses 40% of Canada’s landmass. There are currently four working diamond mines in Canada, three in the NWT – the Ekati, Diavik and Gahcho Kué mines – and the Renard diamond mine in Quebec. During sub-zero winters, the temperature there can plummet to -50°C.
INDIAN DIAMONDS
The Indian diamond industry is one of the oldest ‘industries’ in the world. Diamonds have been revered in India for as long ago as thousands of years. It was thought that after thunderstorms, diamonds would appear in the locations struck by lightning.
Locals believed that they had been blessed with gifts from the gods and searched the ground where rainfall had caused sediment to be pushed away to reveal sparkling diamonds, in their alluvial deposits.
Of course these areas eventually became the mines, such as Golconda in Central India.
Today, India counts for more than 90% of produced diamonds.
It means that nine out of ten diamonds sold in the world go through India, where they are ‘manufactured’ (cut and polished).

1. Color
Since light source and background can have a significant impact on a diamond’s appearance, diamond color is graded in a standardized viewing environment against color masters.
2. Clarity
Diamond clarity is graded under standard viewing conditions with 10 x magnification. The preliminary grader carefully examines the diamond in order to identify clarity/finish characteristics and evidence of any clarity treatments such as fracture filling or laser drilling.
3. Cut
Excellent to Poor Cut Diamond Grading System assesses the diamond’s overall face-up appearance to predict the intensity levels of brightness, fire, and scintillation (the diamond’s sparkle and interplay with light).
4. Carat
To determine diamond carat weight, the diamond is weighed using an extremely accurate electronic micro-balance that captures the weight to the precise fifth decimal place (the nearest ten-thousandth of a carat). An optical measuring device is used to determine the diamond’s proportions, measurements, and facet angles.
5. Confidence
In our eyes, trust and transparency are the most important criteria for a long term business relationship. That's why we not only consider the quality of the diamonds (4 C's), but also our own fundamental personal 5th C – Confidence.
